The Negotiation Novice Rounds seek to provide an opportunity to participate in rigorously simulated negotiations with practical problems to those who have had no such experience. The Novice Rounds were open to incoming batches of BA LLB (Hons.) and the 3-Year LLB students who did not have any prior negotiation or mediation experience and were a resounding success, receiving 30+ registrations. The Rounds were conducted on 22 March 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., before two benches of judges who have amassed substantial experience attending negotiation, mediation and client-counselling competitions in India — namely Shashanka Tewari (5th Year), Snehil Tiwari (4th Year), Aditya Kumar Singh (5th Year) and Anushka Khandelwal (5th Year). On the basis of their performance in the Rounds, participating teams were given comprehensive feedback by the judges not just on how to function better as a negotiating team, but also in-depth advice uniquely tailored to help them excel in the upcoming University Negotiation Rounds for the next academic year.
